Timpanogos Cave

This weekend 9-20-08 my brother and I decided we should go hiking. We wanted to get a really good work out. We promised each other that if its rains or shines we would go. So we both decided to go hike Timpanogos. Its been ages since the last time we both went up there. Jeff was 9 and I think the last time I went was when I was 15 with my best friends Sarah's family. The first time I went I remember it being really hard and my mom crying. The second time I went with Sarah I still remember it being hard and stopping a lot for her dad. So I was a little nervous to see what was going to happen. But I was Super excited as well. I bought a really cute Camelback water pouch. Its green and brown and insulated so I can take it snowboarding with me too.

That's me in the pink. I look pretty sexy I must say! lol

Here's me again. My brother was so thankful that I wore a bright color jacket because he wouldn't have been able to see me if I hadn't. (I'm the pink dot)
So the hike wasn't as bad as I remember. IN FACT my brother and I went up and down the trail TWICE! Yes, we did it twice. That means we went three miles up hill and three miles down hill and .5 in the cave. The reason was we weren't suppose to start our hike tell 1:50 and our tour through the cave was at 3:20. My brother and I got our ticket at noon. What are we suppose to do for 2 hours right? So we just decided to hike. We hiked it pretty fast and didn't stop. We were up at the very top at 12:42. We rested for a little bit like ten minutes and figured out that we can't even go into the caves for another couple hours. So we decided to look around a bit and go back down the mountain and have our lunch we packed. So that is exactly what we did. We ate our lunch and then climbed the steep trail again. This time it wasn't as easy, but we still had a quick pace. Passed adults and children crying. We still didn't stop not even at this part!

Yeah, its pretty intense. This is the part where my mom cried the last time we went. But we made it again for the second time so we could go inside the caves. We got up there about 2:40 and had to wait tell 3:00 before they would let us go in. It was pretty cold and really pretty. Its so incredible how they found the cave. My bother and I now have the fever. We have to keep hiking and next spring we signed up to go cave hiking. Its pretty wicked and I'm excited to go.Here are some of the things we saw in the cave, the stalactites and stalagmites, thousands or even millions years old. Nature is such a treasure! My favorite the heart of the cave. This stalactite use to be two but then grew together. It grew so slowly that it saved all the minerals for its self and that's why it became so huge. It weights over 2 tons. One of the guys in our group asked the tour guide if it was a women's or man's heart. The guide just looked at him like he was crazy. She said she wouldn't know. Then the man said I think its a women's heart because its "COLD and HARD" lol. I laughed so hard.

Well that was a fun adventure with my brother. We had such a good time that we decided that we will make this a tradition. We plan on going on another hike and rock climbing in two weeks and then when it gets cold we will go snowboarding. I can't wait!

I woke up 09-03-08 Wednesday morning with a sharp pain in my toe. It was an inflamed ingrown toe nail. I was half asleep and wanted to go back asleep so I took a pain pill and went back to bed. I woke up late that morning for work and was frantically getting ready. I didn't realize tell I was able to think that my toe really hurt. It was the worst I've seen my toe for a long time. This is what it looked like:

PICTURE: A (close up)
I took a picture of my toe and sent it to several people on my phone. Just to get a feel of what I should do. The general consensus what to go get it checked out. So I decided I would leave work early. I text my brother and he was really sweet and he offered to take me to the urgent care. I asked him to bring his camera. (I had to update my blog about this!) Here is another picture of my toe from far away:
Picture: B
Don't you just love my sparkly care bear tattoo? I told them I had to get a tat to be apart of the gang I was in. The nurse just looked at me like I was PSYCHO! Here is another picture of my toe from a medium distant:
Picture: C
Now I'm sure your thinking what is that shiny stuff on my in flamed ingrown toe nail. Well I'll tell you. I was at work. Flaunting off my ingrown toenail. Telling them it was pretty painful and that I would have to leave early and just trying to gross them out. One of my friends had a wonderful idea. She had some numbing tooth stuff and she thought it would work on my toe to numb the pain a little bit. So I was like what the heck, why not. So I put it on my toe. Yeah, didn't work! But you should have seen the reaction my doctor gave me when I told him what was on my foot. Yeah, he thought I was PSYCHO, that's TWO!

Anyways the doctor decided to remove the toe nail. They kept saying over and over again how rare it is to remove an ingrown toe nail from the second toe and not the big toe. I guess I'm just special! So the doctor numbed my toe. That is where this picture comes in:
Picture: D
This picture is after they put shots in my foot. My brother was standing next to me and he was taking pictures and the kept looking up at my brother. I'm sure he was thinking, "What the crap! These kids are PSYCHO! Strike THREE! This is what my toe looked like after it was numb:

Picture:E

Isn't it awesome how all three of my toes are freakishly huge. Then here comes the surgery. The Doctor came in and cut my toenail in half and then ripped the nail out. The thing is he ripped a lot of skin with it. That is what you can see in the back ground of this picture:

Picture: F

All better!!! Now my toe feels a 110% better. I just wanted to give a shout out to my brother. He did an excellent job on the picture taking and keeping me laughing while the doctors were gone. Thanks BUBBY! To all of you that have read my blog I hope I didn't gross you out to much. Tell we meet again!

My beloved dog POODI

My beloved dog Poodi past away 08-27-08. She was paralyzed from her waste down from a stroke she had during the night. She was in so much pain we decided the best thing is to end her pain quickly, so we put her to sleep. We buried her in our back yard with her babies (Black kitty and White kitty). We feel that is where she would have wanted to be placed.
She was seriously the best dog ever. She was always happy and loved us so much. She was such a smart and talented dog. She could do so many tricks for a piece of cheese. One of my favorites was making her "sit pretty" and then yell "BANG" and she would fall down dead. It was so cute the way she would do it over and over again.
One of my fondest memories of Poodi is when we first got her. It was about eleven years ago and we were dropping some of our old toys/clothes off at the DI. When we arrived at the DI we found one of the workers there crying. After talking to him we realized that he was special needs and he was sobbing about a dog. We found out that he was feeding a stray puppy with his lunch for a couple day now and his employer told him he was going to call the pound on the dog that night and get it taken away. So obviously the worker was pretty upset. He begged for my mom to please take the puppy. My mom was touched and told the Special needs man that she would give the puppy a good home. My mom took the dog and handed it to me! We were so excited!! We have never had a real pet before, besides gold fish. Upon closer examination we realized that the puppy wasn't really a puppy it was a full grown Chihuahua mix. We fell in love with her in minutes. She was so sweet, she wouldn't stop licking us. When we brought her home we gave her a nice bath. She went to bed with my mom and that night Poodi made her rounds and slept with each of us that night. She loved us and was very protective of us. I loved her so much and I still do. I hope she knows how much we love and miss her. She was the best dog ever and I will never forget her. I love you Poodi! I know your in a better place and I know I will see you again!

Music of the Month.

I've decided that I'm going to post the music I'm obsessed with for the month. My taste is constantly changing. But for awhile now I've had and ear for very smooth, easy listening type of music. I love finding new or old music, that you don't usually hear on the radio.

What I've been listening to this month:
-Damien Rice "Cheers Darling"
-Ben Folds ft Regina Specktor "You don't know me"
-MIA "Paper Planes"
-Sia "Breath me" (defiantly one of my favorites)
-Jason Marz ft Colbie Cailiat "lucky"
-Adele "Chasing Pavement"
-Chairman's waltz from memoirs of a Geisha
tell next month!

TAG?!

I guess I can be it! I HATE being it, because it feels like I'm it for a century!!
(Well I guess it gives me something to do while I'm at work.)

1. 10 years ago...
I was 12 and I still lived in West Valley. I just barely started Jr High, my first class was history. We barely voted on who would be the class president.... and they chose ME!!! I remember being very popular, but I was always trying to be the class clown. My best friend at the time was Kayla Wright.

2. 5 years ago...
I was 17 and I started my Senior year of High school. I remember I was anticipating the vote for who would be the next head swim team caption. (It was ME again!) I was really excited to start swimming full time again. I was also wondering and scooping out who I wanted to ask me to Homecoming. I also remember being the witch for FCCLA parade that we won first place in. I was also just called to be Laurels president. Man BIG WEEK!

3. 1 year ago..
I was still in training for Principal. I was going to go out on the phones in a few weeks. I was just getting settled in my new apartment. I was dating Ben and just met another guy named Joe that I was texting all the time. I was planning a trip to St George to go see him again. I was also freaking out because my car decided to die and I need to buy a new one.

4. Yesterday...
I didn't really do anything productive. I did dishes and laundry. I chilled with my family. Read the last chapter of Midnight Sun. I was super bummed that it rained because I really want to go do a long hike with my brother.

The Rules:-Link the Person who Tagged you-Mention rules on your blog-Tell about 6 quirks of yours-Tag 6 fellow blogger to do the same-Leave a comment to let them know.

1. I'm compulsive about certain things. I have to check to make sure the door is locked several times. I have to make sure that my alarm is set like a million times. I have to check and recheck text I send to make sure they were sent..... I'm insane! Lol

2. I don't get alone with guys that I've been romantically involved with. "EVEN" if it was mutual. "EVEN" if I ended it and we ended on good terms. I still don't like them! Lol I don't know why. Love is blind right? I guess when things end, I just open my eyes and see. Most of the time I think, "What the HELL was I thinking dating that guy!!!" (there is one guy in particular that I think that about) Then I just laugh, oh man!

3. I'm obsessed with Twilight series. I have to know whats going on with the books and movie. I'm so glad I have connections (Danielle) that keeps me super updated with everything. I've seriously read Twilight about 8 times. I have never read a book over again that much in my life. I'm still really bummed about Midnight Sun. But I really do believe that she will finish it and sale it... if I have to wait 10 years I will! Yes, I know Edward Cullen's is a fictional character, I just choose to believe there is someone like him out there for me! :)

4. Something that truly frightens me is ALIENS! I know this is crazy but I seriously sleep with water next to my bed, just in case!

5. Something I do and I don't really care who is watching is I love to sing in my car at the top of my lungs. I always make sure to roll up my windows at all times. But I love blasting my music and singing along to a great 80's love song. I really get into sometimes. Its seriously the best! I also really wish I could have a theme song. So every time I walk into a room, my theme song would BOOM into the room. Kinda like Phantom of the Opera, but mine would be a lot less gloomy but catchy! Lol

6. I don't like the feel or look of tissues or wet toilet paper. Yes, I know I'm weird. But its true, it makes me want to vomit. I think my biggest nightmare is waking up and seeing used tissues all over the place. I would DIE and vomit every where. I don't know why it makes me sick but it does. Eh, it gives me the chills even thinking about it!

I tag Hilary, Tim, Matt, Mandy, Ashley and DANIELLE!!!!
